Join us at El-Shaddai Dairies Inc. where Dieter Gagelmans has been experimenting with multispecies cover crops since 2021, seeing increased yield even in a dry year.
His best field so far yielded 12.5 t/acre without added fertilizer and manures. Dieter will share his results and his experiences on a tour of the dairy. In the afternoon we will explore the feasibility, economic considerations, nutritional impacts and considerations and environmental impacts of multispecies cover crop silage in dairy and cattle feeding operations.
